Building communities!
Our latest program is all about the ways animals live in social groups and benefit the entire ecosystem! We showcase and discuss several different animals including:
- Silkie Chicken
- This is one of the few non-wildlife animals we present. The Silkie Chicken has been helping humanity for thousands of years, first as a meat option, and secondly as a surrogate. Today they can be found living their best life as therapy animals and in providing homegrown free range eggs.
- Gila Monster
- This lizard is one of only two North American venomous lizards. It is a calm and docile carnivore from the Desert Southwest in the United States. Their coagulating venom has helped develop medication for diabetes and wound dressings.
- Black-Tailed Prairie Dog
- Buteo buteo
- Bird of prey from Eurasia & parts of Africa and SE Asia
- Mountain Coatimundi
