NHECM's program educators are trained and professional wildlife biologists who are equally enthusiastic about our animals and teaching about the natural world. That enthusiasm is reflected in our program curriculum which is carefully tailored to school exams as well as to present a fun yet educational experience for audiences. "The "The vocabulary that you use such as herbivore, nocturnal etc. are terms that the students need to know on our state test. This past show the rainforest was exceptional. Students do not have the opportunity to be exposed to these types of animals. Thanks again." - Finley Elementary (Tennessee)
"Desert Life" - Our NEW program for 2009-10
This year's program focuses on the amazing adaptions of animals that not just survive but thrive in the desert. Our exhibits come from desert habitats from all over the world, including an African Fennec fox, Grassland Sulcata Tortoise, Prairie Dogs, Whipscorpian Vinegaroons and a Pueblan Milksnake. Each of these animals have unique adaptations that allow them to live limited access to water, in conditions of scorching heat and to help them find food as well as avoid becoming prey. Please visit our program link for more information on this year's exciting "Desert Life" presentation.

- Young Artists Slideshow...please click on the artwork to see what children learned from past visits with NHECM's animals. We want to thank all of the students and their teachers for sending us their wonderful artwork. We will try to feature new pictures as often as possible and teachers please keep sending us any student work featuring what they learned from our visit!
"The content and your presentation kept the kids engaged for more than an hour! That's pretty amazing for elementary children. The fact that you had the globe and taught them some new vocabulary words was also exceptional. Often times we have assemblies that do nothing other than cut into our teaching time...but this one today was well worth the time. The kids really learned a lot, had fun and were fairly well behaved. Thank you so much for coming to Bergman School. Please come again when you can." - Bergman School (Arkansas)
